HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) — Law enforcement reported only minor injuries after a small plane crashed Thursday afternoon at the Houston Municipal Airport in Chickasaw County.
Houston Fire Chief Jonathan Blankenship said that a flight instructor and aviation student were inside and escaped safely after the crash at around 5 in the evening.
Blankenship said that neither needed medical treatment and called 911.
It is sunclear how the plane crashed but the fire chief said that it is believed the plane skided off of the runway into a grassy area.
The federal government will investigate what happened.
