Skilled to Work: NEMCC partners with New Way

Northeast Mississippi Community College has partnered with a business to grow the economy in Booneville and surrounding areas.

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) – Northeast Mississippi Community College partnered with a business to grow the economy in Booneville and surrounding areas.

Refuse garbage truck manufacturing company, New Way, opened a facility in Booneville. The Iowa-based company is preparing to begin production on Jan. 20.

New Way and NEMCC are working together to help students become employed. The college has worked to change the curriculum to fit the specific skills needed to succeed at New Way.

The company plans to hire 100 employees within the first year and more in years to come.
