Murry, 27, was charged with murder in connection to the death of Jarrel Ward, 24.
Sheriff Arledge says Murry and Nottage conspired with each other to aid in his escape from the Lowndes County jail.
He says Nottage was to impersonate an officer of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. MDOC has a hold on Murry for other charges.
The sheriff says this was an attempt to get the sheriff’s department to release Murry from the jail.
As a result, both Nottage and Murry were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony crime.
