LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A sex offender is accused of molestation in Lee County and faces more sex crimes in Georgia.
The Lee County Sheriff's Department began investigating the case against Jamey Paul Burrage in mid-March.
The sheriff's department says Burrage is a registered sex offender and lived in Lee County. He also previously lived in Prentiss County and Chattooga County in Georgia.
The alleged molestation occured in Lee County.
In Februrary 2018, he moved to Georgia.
Once Lee County officers finished their investigation, an arrest warrant was issued.
Burrage was notified by Lee County Child Protective Services of a Child Protective Court hearing he needed to be at. On March 26 after the hearing, he was taken into custody by Lee County officers and charged with one count of child molestation.
While in custody in Lee County, the sheriff's department was contacted by the Chattooga County (GA) Sheriff's Department. Investigators there had 13 active felony warrants on Burrage.

"Our office will do everything possible to make sure Burrage will never be able to harm another child," continued the sheriff's department.
