BRUCE, Miss. (WTVA) - The city of Bruce is preparing to receive heavy rain over the weekend when the annual Sawmill Festival kicks off.
“But they are saying what 4 to 5 inches could be,” Mayor Rudy Pope said. “But just a one-time thing, and if it doesn’t set in, we will be okay.”
Pope said the festival would go on as planned despite the forecast, and if issues arise, they will address it.
“We got a lot going on, and as we get through this festival, we are planning to start paving streets, so it is going to mess up everything if it continues to rain,” Pope said.
The festival starts on Friday night at 6:00 and goes on all day on Saturday.
