TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Salvation Army in Tupelo set up its annual Angel Tree Monday at The Mall at Barnes Crossing.
Maj. Whitney Morton said this year's tree will have approximately 650 children available for "adoption."
That's significantly more than last year’s total of approximately 400 children, she said.
Anyone wanting to adopt an angel can visit the Salvation Army's booth at the entrance to the mall’s food court.
The public can also support the Angel Tree program via the Salvation Army’s website.
"Everyone of us wants to feel special and to have a Christmas morning with great memories and dreams coming true," Morton said.
The Salvation Army will be accepting gifts until Dec. 11.
Those who adopt an angel can drop off their gifts at the mall site or the Salvation Army facility on Carnation Street.
Online shoppers can ship their gifts directly to the Salvation Army.
