SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) - Saltillo police have charged a man with the sexual battery of a teenager.

Steve Joe Lair, 45, was arrested by Saltillo police Wednesday night after an investigation by the Department of Human Services.

Saltillo Police Chief Grant Bailey says the teen went to a school counselor about the abuse, which launched the DHS investigation.

Lair is accused of sexually abusing the teen for almost a year at a home in Saltillo.

His bond was set at $100,000. Bailey said other charges could be filed against Lair from another county.
