TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The state is scheduled to add center turn lanes to a section of State Route 145 in Lee County this fall.
According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), this is a multi-phase safety improvement project.

The project will stretch from the Natchez Trace Parkway to Saltillo.
The first phase will add the center turn lanes at Birmingham Ridge Road.
MDOT says approximately 11,000 vehicles use this section of roadway daily.
The project aims to decrease the number of traffic crashes.
MDOT does not have a specific start date.
