WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - Retail workers and shoppers in West Point must wear masks starting Monday.
The Board of Selectmen made the addition while updating the city’s emergency ordinance.
The owner of Petal Pushers in downtown West Point, Scott Reed, said he's ready to have his business operating somewhat normal again.
Reed owns a gift, flower and garden shop on Commerce Street. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, he closed the store for two weeks.
He then opened back up for curbside orders, but now he's able to open the inside of the store to the public again.
City leaders will require everyone in a retail establishment to wear a mask or face covering starting on Monday.
Reed said he will comply with the ordinance, but he questions how he can ensure all of his customers wear a mask inside.
He’s working on a plan to encourage everyone to wear a mask and to possibly continue curbside for people who do not wear masks.
