Tippah County Coroner Chris McCallister identified the body pulled from the lake as Stanley Horton, 49, of Tippah County.
The coroner classified the death as a freshwater drowning; however, he’s not ruling out a medical issue.

TIPPAH COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — State and local first responders recovered a man's body from a lake in Tippah County after someone reported a possible drowning.
Tippah County Sheriff Karl Gaillard said searchers found the body of a 49-year-old man around 7:30 p.m. Monday in Lake Mohawk. The lake is between Booneville and Ripley.
Major Jason Young with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said the agency had five officers at the lake working with Tippah County sheriff's deputies and a search and rescue team from Union County.
Someone reported the possible drowning before 6 p.m.
