TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A Lee County grand jury indicted Tupelo Councilwoman Nettie Davis and Tupelo Democratic Municipal Executive Committee Chairman Charles Penson on misdemeanor charges of violating state election laws.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal first reported the indictments on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
WTVA 9 News has since confirmed the same information.
The indictments come after a camera captured Davis prior to the June 8 general election asking for money to raffle off to voters.
