WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - Oak Hill Academy's elementary school principal is leaving to help care for her mother in Texas.
The Daily Time Leader reports Linda Drake will leave at the end of the school year for Gonzales, Texas. She has served the school for four years.
"When the children have walked through the door, they have been mine," Drake told the newspaper. "That was my goal, to treat every child as if they were my own. I hope each and every one of them knows I love them and will miss them."
The newspaper reports Phil Ferguson will fill the empty role when school resumes in August.
