STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Law enforcement served a search warrant Thursday regarding an investigation centering around the possible tampering of Mississippi State University records.
The Starkville Daily News reports multiple law enforcement agencies served the search warrant.
MSU Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter told the newspaper law enforcement responded to The Garden Homes of Highlands Plantation.
Salter said the target of the search warrant was a former MSU student who hasn't been enrolled since December. The name of the person was not released nor the nature of the university records involved.
"It has an institutional impact and could have an impact on students and faculty as well," Salter said.
He says the incident is subsequent to an ongoing local, state and federal investigation.
As the investigation continues, more information may become available from the university.
