Report: 2nd person indicted in Starkville Parks embezzlement case

Another person has been indicted in connection to an embezzlement investigation involving Starkville's Park and Recreation Department.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Another person has been indicted in connection to an embezzlement investigation involving Starkville's Park and Recreation Department.

The Starkville Daily News reports a grand jury indicted 46-year-old Marion Watson of Eupora for one count of conspiracy to defraud the state.

She was previously arrested alongside former Parks Director Herman Peters in the case.

Peters was recently indicted for embezzlement in the case.

Watson is accused of entering into an agreement, combination or conspiracy with Peters to defraud the city and state by obtaining payment from public funds on a false or fraudulent claim, the newspaper reports.
