NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) - Refrigerated Solutions Group (RSG) had decided to continue some production at its manufacturing facility in New Albany.
This decision is a 180-degree turn from earlier this year when the company announced it was permanently closing the facility in New Albany. The company blamed the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The RSG leadership team has worked diligently to strengthen the overall customer experience by listening to the voice of our customers, employees, and the local community,” Chairman John Ioannou said. “As a result, we made the decision to continue production of the Endless Merchandiser and to keep operating a portion of the New Albany plant. Our goal is to become a healthier long-term partner and I am proud of the decisions our team has made and am pleased with the outcome for all of our stakeholders.”
The company cited “strong customer demand” for the Endless Merchandiser Series, which is a series of display coolers and freezers which retailers, such as grocery stores, use to display frozen goods.
Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) Interim Director John Rounsaville issued the following statement:
“Refrigerated Solutions Group’s decision to maintain a Master-Bilt production line in New Albany is fantastic news for the local community and all of Union County, particularly during a time when job retention and creation is vital to our local economies and the well-being of all Mississippians."
