VARDAMAN, Miss. (WTVA)- Recent wet weather is causing headaches for some farmers in Vardaman.

In the past month, parts of Calhoun County has seen about 15 to 18 inches of rain.

The crew at C&W Farm said the rain has caused them to fall behind in harvesting their sweet potatoes.

“The creeks got out, the floods had the fields flooded, it took a great number of days to get all this water out of here,” Bobby Whitt said.

He said the farm is taking full advantage of this week's sun and wind, so they have started putting down the sweet potatoes plant beds.
