BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office is urging local churches to check their buses and vans for missing catalytic converters.
Sheriff Randy Tolar says several churches have already reported several thefts.
Catalytic converters are found along the bellies of vehicles, and the metals that comprise these devices can fetch a pretty penny on the black market.
And investigators have made several arrests and are looking to make more arrests.
To report any new thefts, church leaders should call the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office at 662-728-6232.
Anyone with information about the thefts or the individuals responsible is asked to call the sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-773-8477.
A cash reward is available if the information leads to an arrest.
