PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - The Prentiss County Sheriff's Department arrested James Roy Eaton on June 16th for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, according to Sheriff Randy Tolar.
On June 16th, 2021, Prentiss County Sheriff Department Deputies received a call about an individual shooting at something, causing it to explode. Deputy Tyler Reese arrived and spoke to the caller. Deputy Reese then went to the individual's house to speak with him about the complaint.
This led to the arrest of 62-year-old James Roy Eaton for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Further investigation led to the recovery of a stolen gun. The Booneville native was then also charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Seven firearms were seized during this investigation.
Justice Court Judge Kimi Kitchens set Mr. Eaton's bond at $20,000.00. Mr. Eaton has since then made bond. This case will be presented to the next Grand Jury by Investigator Taylor Walker.
