Power outages reported in Tupelo

Tupelo Water & Light Department crews spent Monday evening trying to restore power.

Power should be restored, according to Tupelo Water & Light Director Johnny Timmons. 

Update 01/14/19 5:25 p.m.

A circuit breaker "has burned out," according to Tupelo Water & Light Director Johnny Timmons.

This is at the substation by Harrisburg Baptist Church. Crews will have to reroute power from two other substations. 

Power is expected to be restored in about an hour, Timmons added.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Power outages are being reported in various areas in Tupelo, including the west side of the city.

Tupelo Water & Light Department crews are trying to restore power now.

The cause of these outages is unknown at this time.
