VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) - Verona police have made three arrests in a July 1 shooting.

Police Chief J.B. Long told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Martavius Dillard, 23, of Tupelo; Courtland Long, 17, of Tupelo; and Antavious Gray, 15, of Verona, were arrested for a shooting on 8th Street.

The newspaper reports all three are charged with aggravated assault.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Department jail docket, Martavius Dillard and Antavious Gray were arrested on July 16. Courtland Long was arrested on July 13.

Long also told the newspaper the arrest was not directly related to a July 8 shooting at the Super C convenience store on Raymond Avenue.

There is no word as to where the investigation into that shooting stands. The chief has provided very little information concerning the case.

WTVA 9 News found out what transpired by watching surveillance video provided by the store. The station also got a police report after filing a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
