Police chase causes power outage in Union County

A five minute police chase involving the Union County Sheriff's Department and New Albany Police resulted in the suspect hitting a utility pole.

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) ----- A chase in New Albany causes a power outage for some customers.

The chase happened on Highway 348 Friday night and only lasted about 5 minutes.


The suspect hit a utility pole on County Road 121, causing the outage.

Police Chief Chris Robertson says there were no injuries, and the suspect is now in custody.

New Albany Light Gas and Water says a crew is currently working to restore power to the area.
