Oxford police say all is clear. It's safe to return to the area.

Oxford Utilities says there is a small electric outage affecting approximately 10 customers in the area of the lightning strike near Thomas Street and Webb Street.
Once the leak is contained, power will be restored.
Update 12/27/18 1:49 p.m.
Crews will have to dig into the line across the street and install a shutoff. This will take an unknown amount of time.
Thomas Street at Park Drive and Webb Street at Murray Street are blocked off.

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Evacuations are ongoing after lightning struck a gas line in Oxford.
Oxford police say this is on Thomas Street near Webb Street.
Police are urging everyone to stay away from the area.
UPDATE at 1:35 p.m. - Police say there appears to be no immediate danger. Firefighters are on the scene.
