COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Lowndes County deputies and U.S. Marshals captured an attempted murder suspect wanted in Pennsylvania.
Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said marshals and deputies arrested 17-year-old Michael Galbraith of Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday afternoon.
The Erie Police Department wanted Galbraith on two counts of attempted murder and six counts of aggravated assault.
The sheriff said law enforcement officers received a tip that Galbraith was in the area and was spotted Tuesday at a local business in Columbus.
“I am proud of the hard work and dedication of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and our deputies who helped get this violent offender off the streets in Lowndes County and the City of Columbus,” the sheriff said. “Their work helps keep our community safe when suspects try to hide or escape custody.”
According to WJET-TV, Galbraith is accused of shooting at several people on July 24.
