OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - A shoplifting call in Oxford leads to a man being charged with the illegal possession of a gun.
On March 6, Oxford police responded to Walgreens for a reported shoplifting.
According to Oxford police, 37-year-old Blake Marquis of Oxford was with an unnamed woman who was later arrested for shoplifting from the store.
During the investigation, a K9 search of the two's vehicle yielded the gun in Marquis' possession.
Police say he had a prior felony arrest and conviction, which resulted in him being charged with the possession of a firearm by a felon.
His bond was set at $5,000.
