OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - An Oxford man is accused of cyberstalking and threatening to harm another person.
The Oxford Police Department arrested and charged Roger Matthews, 25, with cyberstalking.
According to police, officers responded Saturday to the 2400 block of Anderson Road after receiving a report of an assault attempt.
Arriving officers spoke with Matthews and told him to leave the area.
Matthews later sent threatening messages to the victim, police say.
“Due to the content of these messages, officers made the determination to go locate Matthews and arrest him to prevent any potential harm to the victim,” according to a police statement.
