Starkville police search for the suspects of a fatal weekend shooting.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - One man is dead after a shooting in Starkville on Sunday.

Police Sgt. Brandon Lovelady identified the victim as Clifton Files, 17.

He said it happened at the intersection of Sherman and Hilliard streets around 5:00 in the afternoon.

Right now, police are looking for the suspects. Sgt. Lovelady said they believe the suspects ran into a nearby wooded area after firing shots.

Detectives believe the suspects and the victim knew each other.

The Starkville Police Department is still investigating this case.
