WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) — Police in West Point charged a man with murder after a fatal shooting early Thanksgiving morning.
Officers said it happened at the Windale Apartments, which is on the north side of the city not far from the hospital.
They showed up at the apartments before 1:30 a.m. Thursday because of a disturbance.
Police identified the victim as James Willie Roberson, 43, of Houlka and the suspect as Octavius Monroe Collins, 45, of West Point.
Detective Ramirez Ivy said Collins was dating Roberson's sister and the two of them got into an argument at the woman's apartment when the fatal shot was fired.
