STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — The Oktibbeha County Emergency Management Agency reported the storm shelter will open if placed under a tornado watch.
WTVA’s meteorologists are forecasting potential severe weather for this weekend.
Mayor Lynn Spruill tweeted the safe room located on 985 Lynn Lane in Starkville will open two hours prior to a severe weather watch.
Spruill added that residents who come to the storm shelter should wear masks.
WTVA reached out to the EMA Director Kristen Campanella and county supervisors on whether masks will be provided at the shelter and for more information about the storm shelter.
