OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) - Last week's snow and ice caused area buildings to buckle beneath the extra weight.
This happened to Austin White who owns and operates a shop in Okolona where he maintains and services tractors, boats, and other items.

White also owns and operates Big Son Logistics Trucking Company. He would repair and service his trucks there.
White bought the building about 3 years ago after renting it for 1 year.
He said something as wild as the building caving in under the weight of snow and ice was entirely unexpected.
"We had been here about 8:00 the night before and got some stuff out of here, and when I came back the next morning it was just laying down," he said.
He currently cannot use his building in its current state due to the damage it sustained during the winter weather.
"The roof's just laying on the inside, so, we're just waiting on insurance now."
For now, he's having to hire someone to do the truck repair work until he can rebuild or purchase a new shop.
"We're just waiting to see what happens," he added. "Maybe we can rebuild and get back rolling."
Despite dealing with the damage, White said he is committed to helping his community.
He and a group of others volunteered to help clear snow and ice so that area businesses could reopen.
