OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) - Okolona police say a security guard was attacked during the night at a United Furniture facility.
Interim Assistant Police Chief Rahn Giddens says the incident happened yesterday, Dec. 16, sometime near 11 p.m.
Police say the robber entered a security trailer and demanded the guard’s phone and money.
The robber then shot the guard in the leg after the guard did not give up more belongings.
The robber then fled the scene.
The robber is described as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, last seen wearing a gray mask, a hoodie and dark-colored clothing.
Police say the guard was not employed by United Furniture but was instead contracted.
The victim is receiving medical treatment for the wound.
