TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Two more arrests have been made in connection to the theft and illegal sale of beer in Lee and Chickasaw counties.
Several workers at Mitchell Distributing Company are accused of stealing beer from the company. The company is located in Shannon and sells beer, sodas and other beverages.
The investigation led to the initial arrests of seven suspects, including six employees.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, a search warrant was served on June 21 at the Happy Mart on East Monroe Avenue in Okolona.
Mohamed Mohsin of Okolona was arrested and charged with possession/sale of beer not obtained from a wholesaler. More charges are pending.
On Thursday, a call was made to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. The caller reported someone in Okolona was selling large amounts of beer from his residence.
Jason Foulks, 45, of Okolona, had allegedly purchased beer products stolen from Mitchell Distributing Company.
Foulks is charged with possession of beer with intent to sell without a permit, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
The investigation involves the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The other suspects are Travares Brown, Devonta Orr, Darrius Pack, Jasper Williams, Isaac Morgan, Quintel Montgomery and Benji Williams. All are in custody.
