OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Everyone in the city of Okolona is required to wear a mask when in public, however one store owner says with or without a mask, everyone is welcome.
“If you want to wear a mask fine, if you don’t want to wear a mask fine.”
Just For You owner, Linda Carnathan says some customers may not be able to wear a mask for possible health or religious reasons,
and according to the sign Carnathan placed on her front door, that’s okay.
“As the HIPPA law and the fourth amendment say I don’t have to ask you if you have a medical condition or what your medical condition is.”
Because of this, Carnathan said customers who come in without a mask will not be asked to wear one.
However, she said customers should still feel safe.
“We are doing things to keep you safe.”
Hand sanitizer is placed throughout the store for customers and Carnathan said social distancing is also not a problem.
“Our store is big enough. We have racks that they stand on one side we stand on the other, and we give them their distance.”
However, Carnathan encourages high-risk shoppers to wear a mask.
