MACON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Noxubee County School District held its first-ever “State of the District” on Thursday afternoon.
Interim Superintendent Rodriguez Broadnax said he wanted to share the district's progress from the last year.
"We are celebrating our new buses, our new strategic plan, our vision, our mission, just our students," he said.
The meeting was with the new administration and any parents who wanted to come out.
"We had to really come together to make sure our budget stayed intact. We really had to limit our requisitions and the bills that we had," he said.
Broadnax also shared a five-step battle plan to fix the district with improved teachers, better technology, and pushing students to have life skills.
"It is the goal to be an "A" school district and be a model, not just for the state of Mississippi, but for the United States of America," Broadnax said.
