COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — The Lowndes County School Board decided to choose a familiar face to lead the school district in 2020.
New Hope Middle School principal Sam Allison was named the district superintendent on Monday.
Allison arrived at the school in 2005 as assistant principal and moved up to the top job two years later.
He will take over as superintendent on January 1 from Lynn Wright.
Wright got the job by winning elections, but the state is moving all public school superintendents from elected to appointed.
