The school district received more than 1,000 new computers, allowing every student from grades 5-12 to receive a new personal computer.
Students had to pay a $25 fee.
“It’s very important. It gives them the opportunity to work on the same device in school and at home,” High School Principal John Ellison said. “It gives an opportunity to just give them more academic resources and in the event that they’re not in school, whether it be weather or sickness or anything like that, we can still continue to teach them.”

Houston staff will continue to distribute the devices Friday starting at 9 a.m.
