New community notification system aims to inform Oxford residents

The City of Oxford has announced a new community notification system to keep residents in the loop.

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - The City of Oxford has announced a new community notification system to keep residents in the loop.

The Nixle system will send residents alerts about emergencies and community advisories.

Residents who want to receive these alerts must register to receive them. They can sign up on the city’s website.

Once they are registered, residents can customize their alert settings to suit their needs better.

The alerts can be sent via text message, email, web and the Nixle mobile phone app.

This service is free.
