NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - Law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested a suspect almost two weeks after a shooting in Nettleton.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting happened on the morning of June 27 on Alicia Circle, just off Airline Road.
The victim was treated for a gunshot wound at the hospital in Tupelo.
The suspect, James Staples, fled the scene before deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s department.
He was arrested Tuesday, July 7.
Monroe County investigators charged him with aggravated assault domestic violence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
