NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - Nettleton pastors hope to spread unity during the pandemic with a tent revival.
Bobbie Allred is the pastor of New Visions Church. He said they held their first revival in 2017. Now, four years later, they are ready to have another one.
"I'm looking forward to getting unity back in the people and bringing people closer together," he said. "The last one-- we saw relationships form that are still going today."
The week will include a different preacher each night and lots of singing. He said with the pandemic affecting so many lives, this is the place to be.
"I understand that COVID is a serious thing, but I understand that God is even bigger. I believe we need to be able to come together and trust Him."
Pastor Blake Buchanan said after the event, he feels the town will be more at peace.
"It will bring more people out, more people together if there's not a name above the door of the church."
The tent revival is open to anyone who wants to attend. It will be September 26th through October 1st starting at 6pm at New Visions Church behind United Furniture on Peoplelouger Road.
"The church is called to be a lighthouse," said Allred.
