NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - A string of burglaries in Monroe County had one man behind bars and has left police tracking down missing items.
The suspect, Tevin Brown, was arrested for multiple burglaries, some in Shannon and in Nettleton.
He's accused of stealing from residents in Nettleton. He was charged with three counts of petit larceny by Nettleton police.
"Some of the people here in town started missing items," said Nettleton Police Chief Gary Monaghan.
He described some items as motorcycles, lawnmower and bicycles.
The police chief says one of the motorcycles was stolen near City Hall, and the other was taken on Mikado Street.
Police say Brown put up the first motorcycle for sale on Facebook. Authorities obtained it through a buyback.
The other motorcycle was found at a Tupelo car lot. It was returned to its original owner.
Police say this has been a community effort.
"Thanks to the citizens that helped us," Monaghan said. "We've got most of everything back. If something doesn't look right, you better check it out."
Brown has bonded out of the Monroe County jail.
