A 17-year-old died following a crash on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A 17-year-old died following a crash on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

The single-vehicle crash happened early Tuesday morning near Tishomingo at milepost 287.

According to park rangers, it appears the male teen was driving a car northbound on the parkway when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Rangers say the juvenile is from New Site. The name of the juvenile was not released by park rangers.
