TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Four tornados touched down Sunday night in Calhoun, Lee, Pontotoc and Itawamba counties, the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed on Monday.
After surveying the damage on Monday, the NWS confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Calhoun City from approximately 8:30 p.m. to 8:33 p.m. The tornado traveled two miles.
The Calhoun City twister left significant damage throughout the small town and destroyed several businesses and homes.
An EF-1 tornado traveled from eastern Pontotoc County into western Lee County for 4.5 miles from 9:40 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.
The NWS says an EF-1 tornado swept through Tupelo and northeast Lee County from 9:53 p.m. to 10:19 p.m. The storm traveled 12.8 miles.
The Tupelo storm knocked down trees and severely damaged some homes along Elvis Presley Drive.
An EF-0 tornado traveled through Ratliff and Itawamba County for two miles from 10:22 p.m. to 10:26 p.m.
Fortunately, the NWS reported no injuries or deaths as a result of the storms.
