TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- North Mississippi Medical Center handed out more than 2000 masks to families to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“By my wearing a mask, I protect you. By you wearing a mask, you protect me,” said Dr. Condit.
Dr. Condit says without a mask, it is much easier to pass or contract the virus.
“You can actually pass the disease from one person to the other simply by breathing,” said Dr. Condit.
He said at this time, medical professionals are not expecting coronavirus to go away anytime soon.
“It’s not like the flu, we’re not sure that it will go away,” said Dr. Condit.
He said this is why it is important to make sure that you protect yourself and those around you.
North Mississippi Medical Center started with 30,000 masks and plans to add more dates in the future.
