BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Northeast Mississippi Community College has been awarded almost $1 million to provide afterschool and summer academic and enrichment activities for students ages 12 to 18.
The $982,772 grant will establish Community Youth Career Development Academies (YCDAs) on the Booneville, Corinth and New Albany campuses.
"The program is expected to improve academic performances, increase recreational opportunities, cultural awareness and employability/life skills among students, and provide parenting, life skills and employability skills training for parents," said NEMCC grant writer Pam Meeks.
