Law enforcement arrested five teenagers for capital murder in Harris’ death.
James Waldeck, who is engaged to her grandmother and lives in the house where the murder happened, said he learned something was wrong when his Ring Doorbell mobile app showed an ambulance at their home.
Ring is a technology company that produces household products, including doorbells that can record and show real-time video. Users use the company’s mobile app to lock their homes and can be alerted to visitors.
Waldeck said Harris considered some of the suspects friends.
Biloxi Police said the suspects were attempting to rob Harris, but Waldeck thinks the teenagers came in with the plan to murder her.
