FULTON, Miss. (WTVA) - Multiple people were taken into custody after they fled from law enforcement in Itawamba County.
Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson said an “incident” occurred at the Walmart store in Fulton.
Fulton police later clarified employees at the nearby AT&T store pushed a silent panic alarm. The employees had been told a customer in the store was wanted by law enforcement. The AT&T store is in a shopping center adjacent to the Walmart store.
Fulton police tried to stop three individuals who fled in a vehicle.
One person bailed out of the car and was captured.
The vehicle then crashed on Interstate 22 and officers managed to arrest the driver.
A third passenger was later arrested.
The suspects were taken to the Tishomingo County jail. Fulton police are not identifying the suspects at this time.
Note: The sheriff initially said police were trying to locate a fourth individual. Fulton police have not indicated a fourth person was involved.
