SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Lee County sheriff released the identifies of the victim and the suspect involved in a fatal stabbing.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, the stabbing happened Sunday.

Deputies responded shortly after noontime to County Road 2204 where they found a male stabbing victim. The location is just east of Lake Lamar Bruce.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital in Tupelo. The victim later died from his injuries.
The sheriff later identified the victim as Randall Cowley, 55, of Saltillo. Investigators say Cowley suffered stab wounds to his shoulder and chest.
Investigators learned the stabbing occurred at a nearby home, and officers arrested one individual.
The sheriff later identified the suspect as Maurice Agnew, 54, of Baldwyn. Investigators charged Agnew with manslaughter.
Investigators say both men knew one another. The two got into a fight which led to the stabbing.
The sheriff says Agnew was convicted of aggravated assault in 2018 after he cut another person's throat. He received a 20-year sentence.
Agnew spent two years and five months in the Lee County jail and the remainder of his 20-year sentence was suspended, and he was set free.
Agnew is on probation for the 2018 conviction.
