AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) - Monroe County School District Superintendent Scott Cantrell confirms he will retire from the position at the end of this school year.
His last day as superintendent will be June 30, 2019. He has been the district’s superintendent for approximately 11 years.
He says he will work as an education consultant with Performance Based Education Company beginning in July 2019.
Cantrell tells WTVA he is looking forward to a change in scenery and working as a consultant.
He says he will be working with schools in the area.
Cantrell has been a part of the Monroe County School District since elementary school. He’s a graduate of Hatley High School.
