UPDATE: Monroe County deputies continue search for stabbing suspect

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is searching for the suspect in a Thursday night stabbing incident.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says they are currently searching for Jason Chance in connection with a stabbing that happened around 8 p.m. Thursday.

He says the incident happened at 40156 Wolfe Road just north of Caledonia in the Bartahatchie community of Monroe County. 

He says the victim in the case, Dusty Fretwell, was stabbed in the neck and taken to the hospital and is now in satisfactory condition. 

Law enforcement say they believe Chance could be in Sulligent, Alabama, and driving a white Ford Fusion.
