JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 609 new cases of the coronavirus Saturday, pushing the state past 100,000 cases since the pandemic started in March.
The state also reported 16 new deaths, moving the state's death toll over 3,000.
Of the new deaths, five of them happened locally. One death each occurred in Itawamba, Lafayette, Monroe, Montgomery and Oktibbeha counties.
The overall totals with the new numbers are 100,167 cases and 3,011 deaths statewide.
