OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - The City of Oxford has ordered the animal shelter managed by Mississippi Critterz to close to surrendered animals.
The mayor’s office shared the information Thursday.
The shelter will continue to care for the animals it currently houses.
Two animal transports will take place as scheduled in the coming days.
Anyone who wishes to adopt an animal should make an appointment on mscritterz.com.
Some people have voiced criticism of how Mississippi Critterz treats the animals at the shelter.
On Tuesday the Oxford Police Department announced an investigation into the shelter did not turn up any criminal activity.
